DWG Module

CAD drawings in your application: a DWG drawing type whose products carry CAD symbols drawn to scale, for work that will be shared with or exported to a CAD package.

What it provides

  • A DWG drawing type in every project, with the same interface as the other drawings: browse the catalog, place products, arrange them, annotate.
  • DWG symbols on products: a drawing file per product, uploaded in the admin product editor. A CAD symbol carries its own geometry, so the file defines the product’s size and is drawn to scale.
  • Drawings that CAD users can take further: what your users lay out is exported for the CAD package, the CNC mill or the fabricator, so a custom panel or enclosure designed in your application is manufactured as designed.
  • Drawing conversions: DWG and DXF files converted to and from the Stardraw Design formats, or drawn as PNG, SVG and SVGZ, through the API, one file at a time or in batches, on dedicated conversion workers. Upload a file, ask for the format you need and collect the result; the assistant can do the same through its tools.
  • Previews of the DWG and DXF symbols in the admin product editor, drawn by the same conversion service.

What it needs

Each product that should appear on a DWG drawing needs a DWG symbol. A product without one is placeable on the other drawing types but not here.
